Restaurant Inventory Software Comparison: How to Choose

By the HospitalityStack editors · written from hotel & resort F&B experience

Two kinds of tools

Inventory-focused apps make counting and ordering faster. Back-office suites add invoice processing, recipe costing, accounting integrations and reporting across locations. Pick based on whether your pain is counting or cost control.

Compare on these points

Counting method (mobile app, barcode, scale, partial bottles); invoice capture (photo/OCR or manual); recipe and menu costing; POS integration for theoretical vs. actual usage; accounting integration; multi-location support; and onboarding/support.

How to run a fair trial

Use the same week of real invoices and one full count in each tool you trial. Time the count. Check whether recipe costs update when an invoice price changes.

Tools to shortlist

MarketMan, MarginEdge, Restaurant365 and Crunchtime lean toward cost control and back office; BevSpot, WISK and Partender are popular for bars. See Inventory & Costing and our free bar inventory template.
